There are some great ways to relax and pamper yourself at Disney World. Grand Floridian has complete Spa Treatments, something for everyone. Here are brief descriptions of whats available: Half Day and Full Day Spa services in private or couples treatments rooms. Facial Treatments. They offer a European Facial, a Special Mens Facial and a Toning Facial. You can choose which cleansers and moisturizers, and any other serums that they use. Hand and Body Treatments. They have manicures, pedicures, and leg treatments. Water Soaking Therapy. Basic Hydrotherapy Massage, and many different baths/soaks; mustard, hydrobath, mineral soaks, floral, algae soaks, sport baths and more. Body Therapy. This is a full treatment. You get an algae mask, aromatherapy salt, mineral glow, and finish with a parrafin wax body wrap. Massage Therapy. They offer a variety of massage therapy choices; Swedish Massage, relfexology, sports massage, scalp, shoulder and back massage, and shiatsu. I will take one of each please. The prices vary based on how long the treatment is, and in what combination you choose them. They say that the ‘rule’ is to plan $100-120 per hour of treatment. Some treatments are meant to be enjoyed in conjunction with another. For instance, the very popular Sports Bath is great along with the Sports Massage. The bath is great for relieving your overexerted muscles. Invigorating and intense massage combined with heat packs and muscle oils and linaments. The sports bath is a deep jet hydrotherapy bath with an aroma blend to relieve your sore and tired muslces! Combined time for these treatments is 70 minutes and will run about $130. From those who have experienced it, its worth every penny! The Grand Floridian Spa Cast Members say that they recommend people making reservations at least 24 hours prior to ensure the time and service you want, but walk-ins are welcome. They also say that they love answering guest’s questions about their treatments, so give them a call if you are interested, or would like more information. Here is the contact info: 407-824-3000 Gift Certificates are available, too! The Disney Institute also has Spa Services, and if you would like to call them to compare services, or prices, here is there contact number: 407-827-4455 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Visit the Message Boards! To say it has exceeded my expectations would be a grave understatement. Parade & fireworks information and more and more and more! Thank you for providing this on the Internet. I have spent several hours at your site alone beginning to plan our trip. A trip that I now believe will be a bit more fulfilling thanks to the in depth, detailed and well-organized information you have gathered. I've bookmarked this site and will definitely be spending more time here with the children to get their input as well. Goodness, the focus of this family vacation is them...they should have the majority of input as to what they want to see! Thank you again - Theresa ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tips for Families with Young Kids Tips from Allison I have been to Disney World 4 times in the past 3 years with my family. We have small children and I have been there pregnant, too. So I have a lot of tips to share. First of all I think you need to realize that with little kids you have to go at a kids pace. You have to let them soak things in. Each kid will be intrigued by different things and try to let each child do the things they like. Our oldest son is 5 and he has always been fascinated by the popcorn carts. We know that we will have to stop at each one and watch the popcorn being made. Our middle child loves the castle and she can sit and stare at it forever. We make sure we sit for parades somewhere where she can sit and look at the castle. She is almost 4. Our baby just turned 2 and so far he could care less what we do, he just likes all the colors and activity. One note, we have always brought our own stroller. I find the kids are more comfortable in their own strollers. And I like having the stroller to use from the busses to our room, and from the park to the busses. Always take a mid-day break! We go early to the parks, have the kids eat in the room before we head out. Then we stay at the park through lunch time. We leave at lunchtime. We find a place to eat then go back to our hotel and rest. The kids have always been able to easily nap for a couple hours. When they wake up we go swim for a little while, then have an early dinner. We go to the parks at night if they are open late and make sure to be back in the room for a pretty normal bedtime. Take plenty of clothes for the kids and pack a change of clothes for each kid to take with you to the parks. They will probably need it. Bring a box of baby wipes (even if you don’t have a baby) to clean up messes and to wipe messy hands. Bring a ziplock bag for trash! I will write more for next month. I hope my tips help you enjoy your trip a little more. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Restaurant Review By Vera For those of you who visit the Magic Kingdom (basically all of you) and are looking for a different place to eat, try 'Ohana at the Polynesian. It is a great meal that gives you a breather from the hustle and bustle of the park. You start by taking a 5 minute ride on the Monorail to the Polynesian. You will walk past a beautiful waterfall in the middle of the lobby up to the second floor where 'Ohana is located. As long as you have a PS you will be seated fairly quickly. There are windows all along the perimiter that give a very nice view of Cinderella's Castle. Or you might be seated near the front where the chefs are cooking the grilled foods in what looks like a big fire pit. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Cast members come around playing the banjo (or the polynesian equivalent) and there are coconut races and hula hoop contests during the meal. The food is served on family style platters. As soon as you get seated the server takes your drink order and starts bringing out food. They start you off with salads, dumplings, and lo mein-type noodles. Then they ask if you would like some more of any of that. Next they bring out skewers of chicken, shrimp and beef. You can eat as much as you want and they keep bringing back more. After all of that is done, they offer you dessert (which is NOT included in the price of dinner). I personally recommend the coconut ice cream. It was out of this world. The price for the meal, not including dessert, alcoholic drinks, or tips, is about $21. I stumbled across 'Ohana last August when I was looking for a different place to eat at the Magic Kingdom. I went around 5pm and there was no one there. It is a really nice restaurant, and is a good alternative to the restaurants in Magic Kingdom. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Park Hours, E-Ticket and Early Entry Days Chart will not be shown in this text-only version ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kids’ Views By Curt This is my letter to my parents to ask them to take us to Disney World. Many companies have asked to advertise in the newsletter. I did not want DZ visitors bombarded with ADS so I have hesitated to do this. Instead of having the advertisements scattered over the newsletter, I thought I would add them to the end. That way, if you are interested in ads, at the last pages! If not, then don’t! The newsletter is sent out to approximately 6000 DZ visitors. They are not sent out as spam, each person who receives it, has asked for it! Many say they print out the newsletters and keep them! This could be a prime spot to advertise for companies that cater to Disney World visitors. If you are interested in advertising, or would like to comment regarding this issue, please email me at kimmi@disneyzone.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Happy Birthday to: Ashley, Tony, Michael, Mia; 1, Danielle, 5, Rachel, 21, Joshua, 10, Evan, 10, Devin, 4, Ronald, 45, Scott and Louie . . . and every other DZ’er that has a birthday in JULY! If you would like a birthday announced in the DZ News, send name, and birthday (and age if you want that in, too) to kimmi@disneyzone.net ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THANKS to all the Disneyzone visitors for their help with the newsletter and the site!!! Tell your friends about Disneyzone! They can get their own copy of the Disneyzone News emailed to them each month, all they have to do is go to the site and register.
