Comment : Service was excellent, they took their
time so that dessert was served right after the fireworks at MK, and
they also explained everything on the menu very well and helped us
make our decisions. Food was incredible, one of the best beef
filets I have ever had and they should bottle the sauce they put over
it and sell it somewhere! A great dining experience.

Comment : My idea was to "time" the
meal to the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks at the Magic Kingdom which
the California Grill overlooks. Even with advance preferred seating
and arrival 20 minutes early, we weren't seated until 40 minutes past
our scheduled time. Ask for a window seat if you want to but there's
no assurance you will get one. (So much for watching the fireworks).
But don't count the Disney "magic" out. We were seated in
the "wine room" a lounge area behind two massive etched
glass doors the far end of the restaurant which has a great view of
the Wilderness Lodge area. The exact opposite of the Magic Kingdom
where the fireworks were. Our cast member sensed that I was and worked
the magic for us. First, he alerted the kitchen that we would be
taking in the fireworks out on the observation deck so there would be
a pause between our appetizers and main course and he pointed out that
we really had the better seating in the restaurant. Remember those
glass doors? They do a great job blocking the noise from the
restaurant and gives the wine room a more intimate feel. The staffing
is also double what's out in the general area so the service is twice
as attentive. Except for the slow seating we beat the crowd and noise,
had be best view of the fireworks, and had the better service. (Side
note: I'm sure the overbooking and slow seating played a part in being
seated in the wine
room. If you booked the wine room on purpose the going rate is
$3,000.00!)

Most people feel that they have super food here. It could have
been our tasters were off that evening. Be prepared to spend
serious money in this place. I don't feel that it was worth near
what we paid. View is super!!!

Comment : The food and the view from this
restaurant are fabulous, especially at night. The service was paced
just right. I had the best Chardonnay ever, suggested by the waiter,
with my meal. My meal included tuna sushi, grilled salmon on a bed of
well seasoned vegetable stew, caramel creme brulee and cappucino. The
view of the Magic Kingdom during fireworks and the water parade were
magical. My visit was in 2/99 and the menus change with theseasons/availability
of fresh ingredients.

Comment : This was definitely our best
meal at Disney. We were seated immediately, with a great window
seat which we requested. The food was excellent, and I thought
the prices were fair for the quality. I recommend a speciality
pizza for an appetizer, and the caramel creme brulee for dessert!
When they dimmed the lights and we watched the fireworks, it was a
perfect end to a great meal.

Food : Best Meal I have ever had!
Comment : I've been to the CA grill 5
times now and I have never had a bad meal/service. Wine
selection is arguable the best on the property. Yoshi, the
sushi chef, prepares the best sushi I (or anyone else I've talk to)
have ever had. Like a few other people have mentioned, the beef
fillet is outstanding. The sauce is to die for. As for
dessert, you must try either the Triple Chip Soufflé, or Butterscotch
Creme Brulee. One tip- couple who want to get all dressed up and
have a romantic dinner, expect to see people in shorts and T-shirts
who just came from the parks. It hurts the atmosphere, but the
food and wine more than make up for it. The grill is definitely
one restaurant you don't want to miss.

Comment : The California Grill is the restaurant
to visit for a relaxed, romantic meal for two. Every time I have eaten
there, the wait staff has been very attentive and helpful. They are
also very knowledgeable about the menu and willing to describe the
preparation of any available dish. The menu changes seasonally to take
advantage of the freshest ingredients, so there is always something
new for everyone from the meat and potatoes person to the more
adventurous palate. Make preferred seating reservations to coincide
with the Magic Kingdom fireworks and ask for a window seat. The music
is piped in, the lights are lowered and the view is excellent. We make
it a point to go every time we visit the World.

Comment : I had a very good experience at the
California Grill, although it is a little on the pricey side and I
don't fell that the portions sizes are equal to the prices.
They're a little on the small side. However, I loved the

Comment : I've been to Disney every year for 24
years - the past four with my own children. I wish they had this
when I was little. We've been four times and every time the boys
enjoy it more and the pictures and videos become more priceless.
This past time, Dale spent at least five minutes sitting holding my 10
month old, feeding him his bottle. That's the kind of moment you
expect from Disney! The food is quite good and the variety is HUGE. My
husband gets his money's worth eating, but not myself or the kids.
I'm more than happy to pay for the experience though! Priority seating
is a must.

Comment : The service here was the only down
point, we had to wait quite a while for a seat and felt ignored when
we first got inside. Once we got our seats it all changed - the
characters were great, and came over to our table often! They played
some silly games with our 3 kids, signed napkins for them, kept
untying my daughters bow in her hair, which was hysterical. The food
was really good. I wasn't expecting much, but it was fresh and
delicious! My kids loved this breakfast and we will go again next

Comment : We have been going to this restaurant
even before it changed it name. We just love it. We have
not decided which is our favorite meal breakfast or dinner so we go to
1 of each every time we are in Disney World. Even watching someone
steal the food and put it into tupperware did not discourage us from
coming back. We always bring a new family every year to try it.
Last year we were fortunate to have Donald Duck as a character too.
This is a do not miss place.

When Dale came over to our table he played tic tac toe with my niece.
She was so excited that she lost twice. The part the kids loved
most was when goofy came over to our section and started to dance, he
had us all twirl our napkins in the air. A definite go back.

Comment : It is just the greatest place for kids
and adults who are kids at heart. It is my daughter, and my
nieces, favorite place in all of Disney World. They have a large
selection of characters who visit all tables and spend time with each
child. No one is rushed or gets in a hurry. My daughter
also likes decorating her own cupcake. They have plain yellow
and choc cupcakes, and the children get to icing and custom decorate
their cupcakes to their liking (usually with Goffy's help). I, and my
daughter, highly recommend this restaurant. Maybe I shouldn't
highly recommend it, so I won't have such a hard time making
reservations each time.

included a good selection of adult food. My other children (11 &

at Shades of Green (a perfectly nice place, but no where near as
cool!) We walked right in (about 5:00)- no problems with seating or

Comment : We went to Chef Mickey's to celebrate
the 8th birthday of my girlfriend's son. We also had his
brothers who are 2 and 6. The 5 of us had priority seating for
515 and we were seated promptly after the picture-taking! One of
the most memorable parts of the evening was that the two year old in
our party was comfortable with the characters for the first time!
He ran up to all of them and gave them the sweetest hugs. Of
course, Mickey and the gang all were wonderful to all three boys (and
us old folks too!). Another highlight was when Mickey and Goofy
(in his Chef's outfit) came to present our 8 year old with a special
birthday cupcake, complete with candle. There was much picture
taking and smiles and even a few tears! Oh, and did I mention
the incredible food? I must have eaten my own weight in prime
rib and those unbelievably delicious mashed potatoes! And the
peel and eat shrimp, the delicious fish, the barbecue ribs, the baked
chicken, the ham, the rolls, and so much more. The kids were
deliriously happy not only with the "kids" bar with the
selection of mac-and-cheese, pizza, chicken nuggets, and mini-hotdogs,
but their eyes were about to pop out of their heads looking at the
desert bar! Our server (a wonderful woman whose name I can't
remember) took great care of us. I drink a *lot* of coke and she
made sure I never ran out. I love that. Altogether it was
a wonderful and memorable evening that I can't wait to repeat. I
recommend Chef Mickey's without hesitation, but be sure to get
priority seating because it fills up fast! Have a disney day!

Comment : Food was really bad. I think it had
been sitting there for hours. They didn't have many of the kids
choices at all. The pans were empty and when we questioned them about
it they got mad. The waiter we had was great however. He went and said
something and eventually the food was refilled. He came back to our
table 3 or 4 times to make sure we got the kids food. The characters
here were very rushed and even my 3 year old noticed it. She thought
that Minnie might have to go potty or something. It hit us off guard
too that the photos they took there were so expensive. I think they
should just have a sign near where you get the photo telling you how
much they are. We would have just skipped it. But once they bring the
photos around you want to buy them. We didnt buy them because they
were quite expensive and at that time we were not having a very good
experience. We had several character meals during our stay and this
was the worst. I have heard great things about this place but I guess
we hit an off night.

Comment : We enjoyed Chef Mickeys for breakfast!
The buffet choices were good but I have to say I did not enjoy the
food or selection as much as Crystal Palace.
Character interaction was brief and to the point. A little rushed and
less than memorable. There was a group of about 20 people sitting
directly behind us and we felt sort of left out with the characters. I
had to get a manager to have Minnie come over because she walked right
past us without stopping and then we waited a very long time for her
to come back. Finally, she came over.
My daughter got to play musical chairs with Goofy which was very cute.
Overall, a good breakfast and we would return.

delicious for dinner. The flank steak and parmesan mashed

Comment : I had the breakfast here...very good!!
Much better quality than the usual breakfast buffet's at most
restaurants. The service was also great and our waiter was very
friendly. Had a great time!

Comment : Food selection was average, my husband
and I both decided on the steak, they only served caesar salad which I
didn't like, so had to ask if they would bring out oil and vinegar
(why would any restaurant not have a selection of various salad
dressings? Not everyone likes the same thing!). The food was
good, but the atmosphere was not. Chef Mickey's is right next
door and very loud, the monorail was loud and noisy going over your
head every few minutes. If this were a food court, it would have been
fine, but being that it was a pretty expensive restaurant, we thought
it lacked any kind of atmosphere and had no Disney Magic at all.

Comment : This is the second best restaurant in
WDW right behind Cape May. They have the best wine-soaked steaks i
have ever tasted. Being in the middle of the Contemporary Hotel with
monorails going by every few minutes and the Disney characters next
door @ Chef Mickey's lends a tremendous excitement to the meal. I
would highly recommend this restaurant whether you are a first timer
to WDW or a 15th timer like I am. I'm looking forward to going back
again.

Comment : This was a very bizarre experience. We
were eating lunch at a slow time of the day -- 2:00 pm. The waiter was
a nice person, but VERY bad at what he did. First, the service was
very, very slow. We were there for almost 2 hours! He brought our
drinks -- no bread. We asked for the bread. He said he was waiting to
bring it with our appetizers. We said, okay. He brought our
appetizers, no bread. We asked for the bread -- he said he was waiting
to bring it with our meal. We said, okay, sure. He brings out our
meal. Guess what -- no bread! By then, we were laughing. What else
could you do? I asked him if he personally had something against
wheat. He didn't get it. I said "the bread!" He goes --
oh...and comes back in 2 minutes with bread. Now...why it took over an
hour to get bread I'll never know. Other than "the waiter against
bread" -- the food was good but not outstanding. It took us so
long to get it, we would have eaten it regardless.

Comment : All the hosts and hostess are very
friendly always great you with a smile. We have never felt rushed even
after the meals were finished. Try something alittle different,
get their dessert first, because you never have enough room if you eat
you meal first.
Excellent experience. You will love it !
