Comment : Strolling musicians, authentic themeing, atmosphere that doesn't quit. You will want to like pasta/Italian meals on an order similar to the Olive Garden chain but a chain restaurant this ain't. Here's where you can have a dining experience you will recall for years.

Comment : Alfredo's is a must every time we visit WDW.  The setting is gorgeous and the service is great.  The waiters speak Italian to you and sing songs in Italian during the meal.  The food was very good but very pricey for the amount that you got.  If this restaurant fits your budget then I recommend going there.

Comment : My husband and I ate here before the Candlelight Processional.  The atmosphere was crowded and nothing special.  All the tables for two were put along one wall.
Dan had the calamari appetizer - said it was just alright.
I had the fresh mozzarella and tomato. The mozzarella was just horrible.  I am Italian and I also work in a Deli-I know this is not how this cheese is suppose to taste.  Dan had the Veal Chop - too much cheese on top and I had the Fettacini Alfredo.  It was way too salty. I also noticed other patrons not finishing all their meals.  The only good thing was the cannoli.  Will not return...we're from NY ...we know good Italian food.

Askershus - Norway

Location : Norway:Epcot
Service Times : Perfect

Atmosphere : Nice and Relaxing
Food : Delicious Food!
Comment : Now this is one of those resturants you will either just
love or just hate. I loved it and my wife hated it. I am a seafood nut and she doesn't eat fish. She would like to but it tastes "fishy". Soooo . . . if you don't like fish or related meals this isn't the dining experience for you. That warning aside, the absolute friendly and helpful cast members were a real treat. They are more that willing to discuss their homeland, customs, and roles the various dishes play in their culture. You don't exactly order from a menu for the main entree - there are several served on a buffet. You are escorted to the buffet and the various dishes are explained to you. Then you "visit" the food bar in an all-you-can-eat manner ordering beverages and desserts from the menu. These are mostly cold fish plates you will encounter but there are a few hot non-fish choices for those that don't care for fish. (Hey, its a nortic country with a lot of coastline. Fish is going to be their staple diet.) I recommend the peppered smoked mackeral.

Comment : I know many people will think that this is the herring restaurant. And that is true, I have never seen fish prepared so many ways. However, there are many other items on the menu. The buffet is divided into hot and cold dishes. There are also bread, cheese, fruit and veggie trays. When you are seated, your server will come over and walk you to the buffet and explain the offerings. Along with fish, there was beef and pork. Also, there are many vegetarians dishes and great macaroni and cheese. Desserts are extra. The buffet, especially at lunch is very reasonable, I think it was $13 for adults. The dining room looks like an old castle, but not dark, a very nice atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the dishes.

Comment : If you're looking for basics, you shouldn't stop here. You're at Disney World---GO FOR IT!!! Time to try something out of the ordinary. There's enough of a variety that you should be able to find enough that you'll like--and have all of it you want. The cheeses are delicious and my personal favorite is the Meat Salad. But the favorite attraction for my wife and I is the beer--If you love your suds, you just gotta try the Norwegian brand Ringnes. If I could get it in this country, Molson would lose a customer!! It's a must stop for us every trip!

Comment : This is, by a long shot, the BEST restaurant in Epcot, and as far as I am concerned, in the top 3 of WDW.  The food here was incredibly delicious, fresh and exciting. The servers were helpful and took us on a tour of the buffet to introduce us to Norwegian cuisine and what is customary in their country. I think that was one of the most special things because you don't wander up to the buffet cluelessly, and it helps those who are not accustomed to ethnic food feel more comfortable about their choices.
This place was so good I wanted to go a second time on our trip, but time would not allow.

Comment : We had 3 "specials" Spatezel Noodles, Bratwurst and something else - it is like going somewhere and getting your meal all in one basket (although these were on a plate) had the feeling they were all lined up in the kitchen and when someone would order it - it got nuked for a few minutes and brought to the table. The beer you receive is in a very very large mug - I almost needed two hands to hold it up - couldn't finish it all either - my husband took care of his and mine though! LOL The restaurant itself gave the impression of not being cleaned - the tables and floors were sticky and the smell was not horrible but not pleasant either. We sat with two other couples at a long table and that was nice, turned out one of the other couples was from the same neighborhood as we were - If you must go there for dinner, go ahead, but it would be better to grab a glass of beer and a pretzel or bratwurst from the fast food cart/table outside the restaurant and keep walking.

Comment : At first glance, this looks like a nice restaurant that the whole family will enjoy. The interior is decorated to look like a charming, German village, and has a stage where a traditional tuba band plays. While the atmosphere was nice, though, everything else gets a thumbs-down. The waitress was very slow in getting our drinks and the women serving the food at the buffet was not helpful in the least (she knew very limited English and could not explain what several food items were). The food itself was room temperature and did not come with any labels telling what they were (which would have helped a lot). Overall, not a good experience, and not a trip I would make again.

Comment : The food was very good.  There were many authentic dishes but there was also food for people who aren't into German food.  They put families together at a table.  It was cool meeting new people.  There was a great show going on too.  Parts of it were interactive and me and my friends went up to do the chicken dance.  It was a lot of fun.  Even though it was buffet our drink server was always bringing us more drinks.  He even sat down and talked for a little bit.  It was a great experience.

Comment : I've read mixed reviews on this rest., but we decided to try it b/c besides the fact that we'll eat anything, my preschool boys tend to sit longer when there is entertainment!  I believe that the German musicians only perform at dinner, so we had PS and got seated immediately at a table closest to the stage and dancing area.  The server was very helpful and prompt, bringing our drinks, as well as an extra kiddie straw-cup for my youngest without being asked.  The food is served from a huge buffet and there is a pretty good variety of meats, veggie dishes, breads, salads...Keep in mind that this is buffet food with the emphasis on getting to try lots of things, not with the emphasis on being made to order, hot and fresh!  The show was pretty good, and I think our boys sat for a record amount of time!  A successful meal in our book!

Comment : The service may be slow here but I like it that way so I can relax and savor the food and surroundings. Comment : I expected that, at least at Disney, I would not encounter the stereotypical French resteraunt. Guess what? By Disney standards, it was a very unfriendly place. I am in a wheelchair. After having a place set for me, our party wound up being moved because the chef felt my wheelchair was located in a place that was upsetting the ambiance or "presentation of the resteraunt" or throwing off the balance of his table placements or some such nonsense. PARDON MOI!! If we hadn't had the priority seating, and didn't need to make it to the Candlelight processional, I would've told them where to put their ambiance. The server seemed genuinely embarrased about it, but apparently had to placate the wishes of the high-strung chef. The food is good and the atmosphere elegant, but the portions are the smallest I've found so far in the World. THE ONLY PLACE I HAVE FOUND IN DISNEY SO FAR WHERE WHEELCHAIR USERS HAVE BEEN TREATED LESS THAN WONDERFUL.

Comment : Had a very bad experience here on two occaisions.  The first occaision we had a later PS and it was very clear that since we were some of the last ones here, they wanted us gone so they could go home.  Made me feel extremely uncomfortable.  I don't even remeber the meal. The second time was just as bad, we were squeezed onto too small a table and waiters kept bumping one of the chairs.  Service staff met the French stereotype of being rude.  We were an inconvenience to them.  I have not felt this way at any other Disney property.

The selections were a tremendous blend of flavors and textures with obviously fresh ingredients. Hey there wasn't alot for the meat and potato crowd but what do you want from a seafood restaurant. Service was attentive and friendly but I somehow felt like I was being judged for how much of a tip I'd leave. Can't beat the atmosphere as long as my dinner isn't swimming by! Try this one soon!

Comment : I don't even remember what we ate except salad and this only stands out in my mind because the waiter chastised my mother-in-law for using the dinner plate for her salad instead of the salad plate.  He was a real jerk!  Otherwise, our 4 year old was very excited to see Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale.  Chip and Dale were the most friendly, cuddly and attentive.  All the characters except Pluto spent an average of 5 minutes at our tables giving most of the attention to my son.  He loved it.  It  took about 25 minutes to get seated even though we had priority seating.  There were 10 of us, so that probably was reasonable.?.

Comment : We tend to gravitate towards character meals for our toddlers, and though this one is more laid back than the others, it was still very good.  It was quite quiet, which is nice, but we were there on a weeknight in Oct.  What stands out in my mind is the food. It was served family style, lots of choices of meats and sides which they'll keep bringing 'til you are full.  It was very tasty and fresh - they grow a lot of it right there in the Land pavilion.  Special choices for the kids, though they can eat off the adult's too.  This is a good set-up for my fam. since my husband eats alot and my kids, though they like everything we never know what they'll wanjt at any time!  Mickey, Chip and Dale visited.

Comment : We had a horrible dinner at the Garden Grille.  The food was at best average and the interaction with the characters was below average when compared to other character meals that we ate.  The waitress noticed that we ate almost none of our food and no one offered to do anything for us.  I would not recommend eating dinner here.

Comment : This was one of our most cherished memories from our trip several years ago.  My son was 2 and "Dale" kept sneeking up behind him to tickle him as we were waiting on our food.  The look in his eyes as he had those charachters ALL TO HIMSELF for that time was wonderful.  I have never heard such deep belly laughs from a child.  The staff was wonderful and attentive and the food was yummy. Overall we had a great time!

We were only a party of two but still required priority seating reservations - it was a 2 hour wait without one!! The restaurant is fairly new to Canada - but the secret is out! It's great

Comment : Overall, our dining experience was positive. I was disappointed in the portion size and the presentation on the filet mignon. It was just sorta dumped on the plate, steak almost on top of a very small portion of potatoes, no veggies or any kind of greenery. (In comparison, my companions had plate fulls of colorful vegetables and meats. They ordered the salmon and another steak dish.) The soup was wonderful and the creme brulet dessert is a perfect ender... not too heavy. Overall I'd recommend it.

Comment : Canada updated their restaurant a couple of years ago from an okay cafeteria to a great steak house. The service is very friendly (I always find Canadians to be friendly folks) and the food is excellent. The menu is rather limited, but what they have is done well. I find the prices to be reasonable for a theme park. The interior is rather dark, and I have found that to be cool and relaxing.

Comment : By far, Le Cellier is the best restaurant both my wife and I have visited at a Disney Theme Park so far.  We had PS reservations and we got there about 30 minutes early and were seated promptly in their "best seat in the house" which is located in front of their fireplace.  Our server was Nancy, the French Canadian (ask for her..she will be there until 1/2001), and she is an extremely nice young lady from french-speaking Montreal but she does speak English fluently.  The food was much better than expected.  I had the maple salmon dish and my wife had the New York Strip Steak on recommendation from our server.  Both dishes were excellent and my wife remarked that her steak was one of the best she has ever had which is surprising since we have ate at some of the best steakhouses in the USA.  Overall Le Cellier was one of the highlights to our WDW vacation and we plan on eating here every time we visit!!

Comment : Marrakesh offers some of the most interesting food at Disney. Their menu is varied with beef, chicken, lamb, seafood and vegetarian offerings. Some things like shishkabab are well known to westerners; other items are more exotic. The servers are very friendly and extremely knowledgable about the menu. At the podium, they do keep a picture book of the menu so you can see what the dishes look like. Also, at different times throughout the day, they have musicians and a belly dancer. The dancer is beautiful, and will often ask children to come and dance with her. The prices are great and food delicious. This is a restaurant that you can walk into. I have never seen it crowded. Also, if you have a very large group, Marrakesh is great. Because of the layout of the restaurant, you can all be seated together easily.

Comment : A pure delight! The people could not have been more friendly. Try a sampler platter--best way to enjoy Morroccan cuisine. Pastries are a must, too. Mint tea is authentic, but a bit strong for western tastes. They bring you rose water to bathe your hands with and encourage you to make a wish--mine came true, 'cause I'm going back this Millenium Week! The music was hypnotic, and the bellydancer led a parade of kids from the audience around and around the room with everybody clapping and cheering. You will love it--one of the best kept secrets of Epcot!

Comment : This is a great place to eat for vegetarians! I am a very picky eater, and was depressed by the overabundance of fried fast food. But I ate a couple of times at Pure and Simple, and always found something. The prices are very reasonable, and I had a great baked potato with vegetarian chili. Comment : This is a quick service "italian" restaurant at EPCOT.  It is near the Future World fountain, so you can get some festive EPCOt music while watching the fountain dance, or you can find a secluded corner of the building to rest a bit as you eat.  It's hard to give a quick service restaurant rave reviews, but the reason I chose to review this restaurant is because it is different from most quick service restaurants in its cuisine.  After many lunches at Disney, one may get tired of burgers, chicken fingers and tiny pizzas.  While Pasta Piazza carries the tiny pizzas, they also have some excellent pasta dishes.  I had some excellent lasagna and my wife had the eggplant parmasian.  The meal was served quickly (counter service) and was surprisingly delicious considering how fast it was served.  Though I can't really say it was a truly magical experience, I highly recommend this restaurant for a quick change of pace.

Our young children (under 10 yrs.) were disappointed that the Tacos and Burritos were not similar to Taco Bell. The food is not very spicy but they will add heat if requested. Comment : We went to the San Angel Inn for lunch. The prices are much more reasonable then and it is not as crowded. We got seated right away with our priority seating. The atmosphere in this restaurant is great. You feel like you are eating under the stars,by the river while the boats lazily float down the river, with the sounds of the Mexican marketplace in the background. You really feel like you are dining in Mexico on a warm, clear evening. The service was very efficient and friendly. Never had to wait for anything! My husband and I both had the Plato Mexicano, which included a grilled beef taco, a chicken enchilado, a quesadillo, refried beans, guacamole, and grilled vegies for $12.95, our daughter had the Quesadillas de Pollo with rice and a beverage for $4.99-all of the food was authentic Mexican and delicious, served warm and fresh. The Margarita San Angel Inn on the rocks with salt was wonderful-$7.25. the selection of authentic Mexican beers was good, including Dos Equis lager on draft for $4.95-16 oz, and $5.19-20 oz.,Bohemia,Dos Equis Amber,Tecate and Sol in bottles for $4.25. Wine is also available. I would recommend this restaurant for lunch for anyone looking to have a nice meal, relax and regroup away from the maddening crowd.

Comment : This is a very good Mexican restaurant. We enjoyed this meal a lot. It was dark inside and that was a little odd. My kids are small and really were not up to eating. We didnt order them anything but let them eat off our plates. We did this at many places. The waiter seemed bothered by this. They maybe had 6 bites between them. I didnt want to waste money buying them a meal they were not going to eat and was a bit insulted at the way this waiter treated us. I went to the manager and they apologized immediately and said that it is fine to share food at their restaurant. We then got a different waiter and things were perfect. This second waiter was much more attentive and seemed to actually WANT us to have a nice meal. One of my kids actually fell asleep during the meal and the waiter posed with him for a photo. THe food here was very good. I love Mexican food and this ranks among the best. I cannot recall what I had but I know that I really enjoyed it.

Comment : Teppenyaki is a hidden gem among the Epcot restaurants. The food is prepared right at your
table - and it is wonderful! My wife rated this place the best we had eaten at on our 7 day trip.
I have eaten at Teppenyaki twice, and both times it was excellent. My shrimp was great. My
wife reports her steak was superb. I did taste some of the chicken and didn't think it was quite as
good as the steak or shrimp (still good but not great). If you go to this restaurant, save some money
and go for lunch! Just as much food at almost half the price. And at lunch you can get a children's meal
for $5 that includes chicken, vegetables, and ice cream (great deal considering the high cost of
eating at wdw). Our kids enjoyed watching the chef prepare their food right in front of them.

Comment : We were looking for a sushi bar for my husband and happened upon Teppanyaki. What a wonderful place. We went for lunch. We got seated with 3 teenage boys who were very fun to talk to. At Teppanyaki they cook your food right there on the cooktop table. It is very fun to watch. We have similar places near our home and go often. The chef at Teppanyaki was wonderful. He entertained us with his cooking, and jokes. He cooked everyones food to perfection. I had shrimp and it was perfect, sometimes they over cook it. My son had scallops and said they were better than we get at Benihana's! That is his favorite restaurant at home. I cant remember what the rest of our family ordered, but we all agreed that this was a wonderful meal!

Comment : Tempura Kiku is the other full service restaurant in Japan. Tempura is fish, meats and vegetables that are lightly battered and flash fried. You sit at a large u-shaped table and all of the cooking is done in front of you. This is a small restaurant with about 22 seat all at the same table. The food is delicious, and sushi appetizers are available. I was told once that many Japanese visitors consider this restaurant to be the most like what you would find if you travelled to Japan. A fun experience.

Comment : The food there is not exactly what I had in mind. However, the cook and the service there is so wonderful, the food didn't matter.  We were lucky to get a younger cook who cheered our table.  He was playing tricks, telling jokes, and even posed for my picture!  I was also amazed at how nice other customers are!  I guess the atmosphere just makes everyone to be relax and joyful!  It was a memorable night at  Teppanyaki - Japan Pavilion Restaurant.

Comment : Despite our priority seating, we waited 45 minutes to get into the restaurant.  The desk had no record of our PS reservation.  We had our eighteen month old daughter with us, and she was frankly starving.  When the maitre d' handed out cranes to the children, he picked out an especially rumpled and beat up looking crane for us.  I mean he literally looked through the basket for a minute to find the worst
looking one.  Whether it was because we were Chinese Americans I can't tell.  Once we were seated, the food was average at best.  This is not Japanese food.  We have had much better Japanese food in Los Angeles, even Boston.
This is stir fried showmanship, and what you are paying for is the show.  Our reservation was for 7:30, and despite not eating much, we finished at 10:00 PM.  There are better restaurants at Disney.  Forgo this tiresome experience.

Comment : A Japanese "Benihana" type restaurant. The kids were amused by the chef cooking at our table, though be warned that if you have less than 8 in your party, you will be seated with strangers. This can be nice, but in our case we had to put up with a snotty young couple with two whiny kids! It's all grilled food--delicious but rather limited. You can get shrimp, chicken, steak, lobster, or any combination thereof. If you like variety and exotic, creatively-prepared dishes, Teppanyaki is not for you. But for tasty, basic grilled Japanese food, it's extremely satisfying.
