Photopass & Photo Sessions
What is Photopass? Its a great service offered at the Disney Parks. One you arrive in the gates, you'll start seeing the Disney Photopass Photographers. They will be standing there with their cameras, just waiting to take your photo!
They will give you a Photopass card, which is like a gift card. It has a barcode on it, and they will scan this code each time you get your photo taken by a Photopass Photographer. You can keep the card forever! Just give it to the photographer, have your photo taken, and then later you can view and possibly buy the some of the photos (or all of them on a CD).
Some people use one card for their whole vacation, while others prefer a new card each day. It doesn't matter which way you want to do it. They can combine cards for you. If you log onto the photopass portion of the Disney website, you can enter in the card numbers to view the photos and combine several cards into one account. We prefer a new card each day, because then its lost, we have only lost one day's photos instead of the whole trip. I just put a little sticker on them and note which day it was, for future reference.
Ask EVERY photopass photographer you see to take your photos - the more they take, the better your odds are of getting and AWESOME photo. They will also take pictures using your personal camera, so you'll have those, too.
I mentioned the CD above. YOu can buy the CD online, or at the parks. You can get a 20% savings if you prepurchase the CD online before your trip. Visit this link for info. The CD will contain high resolution copies of every photo taken by a Photopass photographer. You will also receive a copywright release allowing you to print these photos anywhere. This prepurchase also gives you the option of having your personal Photo Session photos added to the cd for just the cost of the sitting fee ($25 each). Speaking of Photo Sessions...
Disney has professional photographers stationed at some of the Disney resorts where they will take photos of your friends & family. You pay the sitting fee, and then you can view and purchase your photos, and/or have them added to your Photopass Card.
The Photo Sessions are 30 minutes long, with 20 minutes of actual photography time. They take approximately 40-80 photos, depending on how cooperative your group is, the size of your group, and if you arrive on time.

The sitting fee costs $50. And you can purchase the CD with all your photos on it for $124.95. They will burn it right then. It will include not only your Photo Session photos, but all of your Photopass photos, too. If you do your Photo Session mid-trip, you can bring the unopened CD back before you leave and they will reburn it with any additional Photopass photos added, at no additional charge.
